Here's a recap of how Manulife Vitality grows throughout your life:

At age 65

You can now earn 200 Vitality Points each for pneumonia and shingles vaccines (once per lifetime).

At age 71+

  • Fewer daily steps required to earn Vitality Points for the three workout types (Light, Standard and Advanced). Step requirements are lowered even further at age 81!
  • Fewer daily workout minutes required for the three workout types.
  • Fewer daily active calories burned required for the three workout types.
  • Blood pressure target has been lowered, so it’s easier to earn 1,000 Vitality Points as part of your Vitality Check™.

Also at age 71, a lower blood pressure target comes into effect. If your blood pressure is equal to or below the healthy range of 140/90, you are eligible for 1,000 Vitality Points as part of your Vitality Check™. The healthy range before age 71 is 120/80.

Note: While points for pneumonia and shingles vaccines are added at age 65, points for mammograms and pap smears are removed at age 71, since they’re no longer recommended in that age range.4, 5

No matter where you are on your diabetes journey, Manulife Vitality offers tools and resources to help you live well, every day. You can earn more Vitality Points if you log your diabetes or prediabetes diagnosis in section 4 of the Vitality Health Review™ and complete the wellness activities listed below.

If you are living with prediabetes:

There are so many ways to earn Vitality Points! Right off the bat, you can earn 500 points by completing your Vitality Health Review and 1,000 by declaring you’re a non-smoker (if you are). Recording your physical activity with a wearable device can earn you up to 30 points per day, and even meditation and healthy sleep can pile up 10 and 5 per day, respectively.

To access your valuable rewards, simply log into your online account or open the app and click on Rewards. From there, choose the reward you want to redeem and follow the simple instructions.

If you’ve earned a gift card, open the app and you’ll see a big pink button at the top of the home screen that says “View your gift cards.” Click that and, voila: a list of your gift cards. Just click on the one you want to use and enjoy!

Vitality Points reset at the end of your program year – but the good news is you start off with 10% of your previous year’s total as a head start! So if you end the year with 5,000 points, you’ll start the next one with 500. And in that new program year you can start building up points to climb from status to status once again.
