Work with us: one-on-one consultation

Whether your goal is to improve employee mental health, reduce absenteeism and presenteeism, attract and retain top talent or increase employee engagement, or all, our Workplace Well-being team is ready to support you on this journey.

How does it work?

Data and needs analysis

The Workplace Well-being team will help you understand your employee population, their health risks, and disease states. In addition to some of our detailed reports, we can explore other relevant data sources, such as employee assistance programs, workers compensation, and casual absenteeism.

Following the review of your integrated health data, our consultants can help you develop a strategic plan based on the cost drivers and opportunities for better outcomes that exist within your organization – with the goal of supporting and optimizing your employee health.

Design, development, and execution

The Workplace Well-being team will work with you to design and implement a wellness program that will help educate, excite, and engage your employees and build a psychologically safe workplace culture. As part of our Health by Design strategy, our mental wellness programs are personalized to your organization’s specific needs.

Ongoing evaluation of the strategy and program: We can work with you to assess the effectiveness of your mental wellness program, the use of services, and measuring the progress towards the expected outcomes.

Effective plans begin with strong design

Offering a plan that helps protect employees’ mental health is integral to building a strong organization.

We know the pandemic has only amplified the mental health issues faced by individual Canadians, their families, and workplaces.1 Organizations that disregard the impact the pandemic has had on their employees or neglect to pivot their mental health support offerings may face a business risk.

To better support employees’ mental health:

Include all mental health practitioners with a combined annual maximum:

  • psychologist
  • social worker
  • clinical counsellor
  • psychotherapist
  • marriage & family therapist
  • psychoanalyst

Set the combined maximum for mental health practitioners to $2,000 to $4,000/year:

Mental health needs can be complex, and no one solution fits all. Some people may experience multiple, persistent mental health challenges. That’s why we recommend between 8-20 visits to achieve a therapeutic outcome for people suffering from depression and anxiety.2

Flexible and comprehensive mental health programs can contribute to:

  • Right care based on needs: Give employees more choice when it comes to their specific mental health needs.
  • Remove barriers: The most important factor for successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between the patient and the therapist and sometimes you have to try more than one to find the right fit. By covering all 6 standard mental health practitioners, your employees will have more options to receive the right support for them.
  • Employee retention: 73% of young Canadians (aged 18-34) and 69% (aged 35-44) are more likely to leave their current employer for another that offers better benefits, with mental health (88%) being the number one factor.3
