Rollout of the enhanced Manulife Mobile app and plan member site

We are thrilled to announce the rollout of our enhanced Manulife Mobile app! Being released in stages to sponsors, our goal is to have the enhanced app available to eligible Group Benefits members by the end of Q2. Current users of the Manulife Mobile app that have enabled automatic updates on their device will not need to download a new app. The update will happen automatically. However, users that haven’t enabled automatic updates on their device will need to do so to get the enhanced app. This integrated digital experience combines the power of health, wellness, and benefits together, so members can get more health out of the benefits plans they have. 

Some of the new Manulife Mobile app features include:  

  • Personalized recommendations: Members have the opportunity to complete an optional questionnaire to build their health profileand receive personalized recommendations of programs designed to help manage existing health conditions or reach a new wellness goal.
  • Educational content: Members have access to content to help them better understand their benefits, so they can focus on their health.
  • Live chat: With the introduction of live chat functionality, members are able to connect with our call centre agents in real-time2, directly within the app.
  • All-in-one experience: The enhanced Manulife Mobile app enables seamless access to health products and services available through each member’s benefits plan – without leaving the app.

Aeroplan® rewards launching summer 2024

Looking ahead, we will introduce exciting new features to the Manulife Mobile app - including rewards and challenges - with the aim to help members stay engaged and motivated towards their health and wellness goals.  

Through the app, eligible Group Benefits members will be able to link their Aeroplan accounts with their Manulife Group Benefits online accounts to earn points for completing health and benefits-related activities. For example, members will have the opportunity to earn points for completing healthy initiatives like exercise minutes, mindfulness practices, and more. They will also be able to earn points for completing educational courses and engaging with helpful benefits tips and tricks, such as downloading their digital benefits cards.3

Plus, even more enhancements will be introduced later this year. 

The Manulife plan member website is also getting enhanced!

With the launch of our enhanced Manulife Mobile app experience, we are pleased to share that we will also be updating our plan member website in the coming weeks. New functionalities will be added to help your employees navigate the website more easily by bringing important information to the forefront, so they can get more health out of their benefits plan. Some of the enhanced features on the plan member site will include:

  • A cleaner, simpler home page featuring information sections on new products, special promotions, and important news updates.
  • A Common Task hub for members to access the links to the three website features they use most often.
  • Revamped, more intuitive navigation of the Claims hub where members will be able to submit claims, search claims, and check whether a claim they’ve submitted has been processed.
  • And other new functionalities!

In addition, some of the new health and benefits features on the Manulife Mobile app will be added to the website later this year.  

The enhancements to the Manulife Mobile app and plan member site mark the beginning of an exciting evolution in health and benefits management. With commitments to innovation and member-centric solutions, Manulife continues to try to redefine the standard for digital healthcare experiences. Our goal? To help our members get more health out of their benefits plan.



1. Completion of the health profile is not mandatory, but it helps us personalize program recommendations.
2. Agents are available when the ‘Live chat’ option appears in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Simply click on it to start a chat. Live chat is available during hours of operation Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET in English and French.
3. Details about all points, eligible activities, and the number of reward points for each will be provided in the coming months.
