We are pleased to announce that Dr. Georgia Pomaki has been appointed as the Technical Committee Chair of the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (the Standard). In this role, Dr. Pomaki will lead the rewrite of the Standard, helping to support mental well-being in organizations across the country.
The Standard is a comprehensive framework that provides guidelines, tools, and resources to advise organizations on how workplace culture can have a positive impact on mental well-being and overall health, as well as helping prevent psychological harm. Dr. Pomaki will play a vital role in advancing mental health initiatives, helping to create healthier work environment for all employees.
Dr. Pomaki brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new position as Chair. She is currently Manulife’s Director of Mental Health Best Practices, as well as an instructor of Workplace Health Sciences at Pacific Coast University. Dr. Pomaki holds a PhD in workplace mental health and has a deep commitment to mental health advocacy and promoting psychological well-being in the workplace.
During her 3-year term as the Technical Committee Chair, she will lead the updating of the Standard to reflect the latest research and best practices that support the psychological health of today’s workplaces and the evolving needs of Canadians.
