Get moving with the Manulife Vitality mobile app
Sure, it’s possible to participate in Manulife Vitality without the mobile app, but using it really maximizes your ability to earn and record your points and rewards.
The Manulife Vitality mobile app is your go-to spot to do almost everything within the program, aside from getting out there and being active – an app can only do so much for you, after all.
Here are a few things you can do with the app:
- Record your activity
- Keep track of your Vitality Active Reward™ targets, Vitality Points™ and Vitality Status™
- Complete your Vitality Health Review™
- Log athletic events, vaccinations, dental checkups and more so you can rack up more points
- Read wellness articles
The Manulife Vitality mobile app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

The Manulife Vitality mobile app for individual insurance members is easy to use, informative, and will help keep you engaged every day to earn points and valuable rewards. Here are some of the helpful features:
- Home screen: Keep up to date on your points and status, find quick links to key features, and scroll through a newsfeed filled with health and wellness information.
- Online education: Earn points for completing quick nutrition courses and using interactive tools.
- View your gift cards: Check out the gift cards you’ve won through Vitality Wheel™ spins.
- See your rewards: Find all the details about the Manulife Vitality rewards and discounts available to you.
- Gym check-in: Log your gym visit to earn points.
Make sure you download the Manulife Vitality mobile app for individual insurance members on the app store. It’s simply called “Manulife Vitality.” Do not download the app called “Manulife Vitality Grp Benefits.”
1. Logging in to the app
Once you've downloaded the app, it’s time to log in. Simply use your Manulife ID: it’s the same username and password that you registered with for Manulife Vitality online.
2. Using the app
See your current points and status information.
Under Act Now, tap on any icon to view and set goals, check in to your gym, and view your step and calorie threshold.
Tap the more icon to see your points summary, submit an activity, view your rewards, and more.

How to complete common tasks:
How to set up a new goal
- On the home screen, tap Goals.
Note: You can also access Goals by tapping the More icon at the bottom of the home screen. - Tap the goal you want to achieve.
Filter on the type of goal or check out our recommended goals. - Complete the required fields.
- Confirm when you want to start your goal, and how long you want to work at it, then tap Set Goal.
How to check in to a goal
- From the home screen, tap Goals.
Note: You can also access Goals by tapping the More icon on the home screen. - Tap Check In under the goal (or goals) you want to check in to.
- Tell us how you are doing.
Tap one of the options to let us know how you have been doing with your goal. If you choose to, you can also complete any optional notes for yourself. - Tap Check In.
When you use the gym check-in option, if you are at the gym for 30 minutes, you will be awarded points for a Standard workout (20 points).

How to use the Gym check-in
- When you arrive at your gym, tap Gyms.
Note: You can also access Gyms by tapping More on the home screen. - Tap your gym from the list.
Note: Gyms, Studios, Athletic facilities are only included in the directory if they are part of Foursquare. If your gym is not a part of Foursquare, you will need to request that your gym register on the platform. If you do not see your gym in the list of facilities available, you can tap Add Gym and complete the request form to add your gym. - Review the GPS disclaimer and tap Continue to start your workout.
Note: You must have an active internet connection and your GPS must be turned on for the entire 30-minute duration. If the system loses your location, you will not earn the points. You can choose to not view this again via the checkbox so it doesn’t appear the next time you check in.

You can link Apple’s Health app to Manulife Vitality. This allows you to share steps data and, for Apple Watch users, active calories, measured by your iPhone or Apple Watch.
When connected, the Health app allows you to see your current step and active calorie data as well as your personalized workout thresholds.
How do I view my activity thresholds with Apple Health?
- On the home screen, tap Health App.
Note: You can also access the Health app by tapping More on the home screen. - Tap the arrow beside Steps and/or Active Calories to see your thresholds.
You can submit activities through the Manulife Vitality mobile app. These include:
- Athletic event (Running, cycling, triathlon)
- CPR certification
- First aid certification
- Gym workout
- Prevention activity (flu shot, dental visit)
- Vitality Check
Note: Manulife Vitality will review your submission and award points. You can submit events within 90 days of the event. You cannot submit activities that took place prior to you becoming a Manulife Vitality member.

How do I submit an activity?
- On the home screen, tap Submit Activity.
- Select the type of event.
- Select the date of the event and complete any additional fields (as required).
- Attach proof of the activity.
This can include a picture of a race bib, screen shot of race results, dental office receipt, certificate, lab results, etc. - Tap Submit.

Download the Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits app from the App Store or Google Play.
In the app, you can connect your smartphone health app or fitness device (e.g., fitness watch). Tap the Profile (or Menu for Android), then tap Manage Devices and Apps to find a list of compatible devices.
Open your app every Monday and check your personalized weekly physical activity target. From Monday to Sunday, you can earn points toward your weekly target.
You can earn points every day for these activities:
- Earn 20 points – Standard workout: Walk 10,000 steps or exercise for 30 minutes with a 60% maximum heart rate.
- Earn 30 points – Advanced workout: Walk 15,000 steps or exercise for 45 minutes with a 60% maximum heart rate.
You sweat it out. Now spin it!
Meet your weekly physical activity target and you’ll get a chance to spin the Vitality Wheel™.*
Give it a whirl to instantly earn a gift card or Vitality Coins™. You can earn between 50 and 300 Coins per spin. Rack up 1,000 Coins and exchange them for a gift card from one of our retailers.
