Please ensure you have the correct Manulife Vitality app downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and follow the Polar device setup instructions for your program.

Group Benefits

Please ensure you have the correct Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits app downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and follow the setup instructions for your program.

Please ensure you have successfully registered for the program and set up your device using the PolarFlow app.

Note: We recommend linking your device using the secure member website.

  1. Log in to your account and click Continue on the Manulife Vitality tile
  2. Click the Devices icon on the Manulife Vitality home page
  3. Click Link another device > I have a device > Polar
  4. Log in to your PolarFlow account
  5. Tap I consent
  6. Confirm you are linked by returning to the linked devices area on the home page. If you are linked you will see a green checkmark on the Polar tile.

Syncing activity using your Polar device

To sync your activity using your Polar device, make sure that your device is connected to the PolarFlow app and that you have linked your Polar to Manulife Vitality.

  1. Track an activity using your Polar device
  2. Open the PolarFlow app and sync your activity data. This data should automatically flow to Manulife Vitality and appear in your points statement in your Manulife Vitality Mobile app (Tap Points at the bottom of the home screen)

In order to link your Polar device, you must have signed up for Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits and set up your device using the PolarFlow app.

  1. Log in to your Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits mobile app
  2. Tap the Profile icon on the bottom of the screen (Android users can tap the Menu icon on the top left of the screen)
  3. Tap Manage Devices and Apps > PolarFlow > Link Now
  4. Log in to your PolarFlow account
  5. Tap Accept and agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. Confirm you are linked by returning to the devices and apps page. If you are connected, you will see PolarFlow listed under Linked

Syncing activity using your Polar device

To sync your activity using your Polar device, make sure that your device is connected to your PolarFlow app and that you have linked your Polar to Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits.

  2. Tap Profile (Android users can tap the Menu icon on the top left of the screen) > Manage devices and apps
  3. Under Linked, tap PolarFlow > Sync now

There are specific target zones that help guide you to the right intensity. A target zone is the heart rate zone based on a percentage of your maximum heart rate (MHR). To calculate your maximum heart rate, take 220 and subtract your age. For example: A 40-year-old individual's maximum heart rate is 180. So if a 40-year-old wanted to train within a specific target heart rate zone, such as 60%, you would calculate it like this:
220 - 40 = 180 (MHR) x 0.6 = 108 (60% of MHR).

  • 60-70% of the maximum heart rate - Light Zone - Improve basic endurance and aid in recovery
  • 70-80% of the maximum heart rate - Moderate Zone - Improve aerobic fitness and burn fat
  • 80-90% of the maximum heart rate - Hard Zone - Increase maximum performance capacity

No, you can only link one Polar account to Manulife Vitality.

Delink your account by navigating to Home and selecting Devices. Click on Manage in the Polar box and you will be taken to the next page where you can click the Delink button to immediately delink your accounts. You may link your Polar account to Manulife Vitality again at any time.

You may use PolarFlow as long as you also have a PolarPersonalTrainer account with the same credentials, linked to your Manulife Vitality account.
