1 The Galleri® multi-cancer early detection blood test is a screening test and does not diagnose cancer. Diagnostic testing is needed to confirm cancer. The Galleri test is not a genetic risk assessment and does not predict future genetic risk for cancer. The Galleri test does not detect a signal for all cancers, and not all cancers can be detected in the blood. False positive and false/negative results do occur. Galleri should be used in addition to healthcare provider recommended screening tests. Important Safety Information: The Galleri test is recommended for use in adults with an elevated risk for cancer, such as those age 50 or older. Use of the test is not recommended in individuals who are pregnant, 21 years old or younger, or undergoing active cancer treatment.

Lab / Test information: GRAIL, Inc.’s clinical laboratory is certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and accredited by the College of American Pathologists. The Galleri test was developed, and its performance characteristics were determined by GRAIL. The Galleri test has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. This test is not Health Canada or FDA approved and has not been endorsed by any professional medical societies at this time. The GRAIL clinical laboratory is regulated under CLIA to perform high-complexity testing. The Galleri test is intended for clinical purposes.

* Discounted access to the GRAIL Galleri multi-cancer early detection blood test through Medcan is available to Manulife Vitality Plus™ members who meet specific eligibility criteria.  Individuals must be 50 years of age or older, or be between 40 and 49 years of age and meet certain risk factor criteria**, must not have received cancer treatment within the past three (3) years, and have coverage under the following products: 

  • Family Term with Vitality Plus™ policy with a total coverage amount of $1,000,000 or greater, excluding rider coverages; 
  • Family Term with Vitality™ policy with a total coverage amount of $1,000,000 or greater, excluding rider coverages. 
  • Manulife UL with Vitality Plus™ policy with a total coverage amount of $1,000,000 or greater, including coverages from a Term Insurance Rider, but excluding other riders; or 
  • Manulife Par with Vitality Plus™ policy with a total coverage amount of $1,000,000 or greater, including coverages from Term Insurance Rider, but excluding other riders.   

The Medcan member offer will only be made available by email to eligible members until November 1, 2026. Eligible members must complete the Galleri test within three (3) months following November 15, 2026. If eligible through multiple Manulife products, only one preferred pricing discount may be used. Discounts are not cumulative and may not be combined with any other offer. Eligibility for rewards may change over time and are not guaranteed over the full life of the insurance policy.  

**Risk factor criteria may include, but are not limited to, family history, smoking history and tobacco use, obesity and environmental exposure. Talk to your doctor about additional risk factors that may apply to you.
