Alexa is a cloud-based voice service offered by Amazon that can help you with tasks, entertainment, general information and more. The service is accessible with the Alexa app (downloadable from your smartphone) and in combination with Alexa-enabled devices. To learn more about Alexa, visit Alexa Help.
You can use Manulife Benefits Balance skill with your free Alexa downloadable app in combination with your Alexa-enabled devices such as the Amazon Echo or Amazon Echo Dot. To view the list of Alexa-enabled devices, visit Amazon.ca
Once you have enabled Manulife Benefits Balance on your Alexa app, simply ask your question, such as:
‘Alexa, ask Manulife Benefits’ how much I have left for new glasses? or
‘Alexa, ask Manulife Benefits’ how much Michael has left for physiotherapy?
You will be asked to say your 4 digit PIN to get the answer.
Manulife Benefits Balance is a service offered to Manulife Group Benefits plan members, such as employees of companies offering Manulife group insurance services. Manulife Benefit Balance allows members to check for their health services balances in real time, either for themselves or their family, if they have a Manulife group benefits plan.
Manulife Benefits Balance will be available by the end of 2017 in English only (Alexa cloud-based service is currently available only in English in Canada.) You need to have the Amazon Alexa App downloaded.
First open your Alexa app on your smartphone, go to Skills and search for Manulife Benefits. Click on Enable Skill and accept the Terms and Conditions. You need to provide your online Manulife group benefits credentials to initially link the Skill. You will also be asked to provide a 4 digit PIN for more privacy when you ask for your balance.
If you have forgotten your PIN, first disable your Manulife Benefits Balance Skill on the Alexa app, by selecting Disable Skill. Then enable the skill again and create a new PIN.
You can use Manulife Benefits Balance skill with your Free Alexa downloadable app and your Alexa-enabled devices.

Once you have enable Manulife IQ on your Alexa app, start playing by saying:
‘Alexa, ask Manlife I.Q. for the ‘Term of the Day’ or,
‘Alexa, ask Manulife I.Q. to play Financial Vocabulary Game’
Manulife IQ and Manulife Benefits Balance are being launched as a Beta test in Canada using Amazon Alexa voice service. Amazon Alexa is currently limited to only English in Canada.
