The Manulife Vitality program is available to any individual who has either Manulife Term life insurance or Manulife Health and Dental insurance. All you need to sign up and create your Manulife Vitality account is your policy number and an email address.

Group Benefits

Do your group benefits at work include Manulife Extended Health Care (EHC)? If so, congratulations, you’re eligible for Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits. All you need to do is sign up and download the Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits app to get started.

If you have received your policy number, or your Health and Dental benefits card, you are you are ready to register for Manulife Vitality.

  1. On your computer*, visit our Manulife online access and click Are you new to the site? Sign up
  2. Complete the required fields and click Next
  3. Confirm if you have a policy number or a Plan and ID number
    1. If you have a 7-digit policy number, enter it into the Policy number field.
    2. If you have a Plan and ID number, click No and enter your Plan and ID numbers into the required fields
  4. Enter your email address and click Next
  5. Confirm if you would like to keep the email address associated with your account or enter a new one. Then create your password and click Create
  6. Check your inbox for the activation email from Manulife and click on the link* to complete your registration

*Registration on a mobile device is not recommended

**If you do not click the activation link within 24 hours of receiving the email, you will need to repeat the registration steps

Before you can sign up for Active RewardsTM, you must have registered for Manulife Vitality and downloaded the Manulife Vitality app.

  1. Log in to the Manulife Vitality app
  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap Rewards
  3. Tap Active Rewards > Weekly Target
  4. At the bottom of the screen, tap Activate Now

How do I change my username?

To change your username, you must first have registered for Manulife Vitality on the Manulife online access portal.

  1. Log in to your account
  2. In the top right corner of the screen click on your name
  3. In the drop down, click Change my username and password
  4. Select Change my username (email address) and complete the required fields
  5. Click Save Changes

How do I change my password?

To change your password, you must first have registered for Manulife Vitality on the Manulife online access portal.

Frequently asked questions

Weekly targets are personalized to you and your level of physical activity. Some weeks it may be easy for you to achieve your targets and other weeks you may have to push a little harder to increase your level of physical activity. 

The primary goal of Active Rewards is to motivate you to increase your physical activity on a daily basis. Regular physical activity can help you manage your weight, lower stress, and strengthen your bones and muscles. While any physical activity is beneficial, by design, completing Standard and Advanced Workouts will help you achieve the recommended daily amount of physical activity.

Weekly targets run from Monday to Sunday each week. Your target is revealed on a Monday morning.

Weekly Points Targets are dynamic to keep you motivated to stay active.

When you meet your weekly target, you will be able to spin the Vitality Wheel for a chance to win Vitality PointsTM or a gift card. You have 30 days after you’ve achieved your target to spin the wheel. After the wheel spin expires, you will no longer be able to spin the wheel and will have to meet another target to get another spin. If you win a gift card when you spin the Vitality Wheel, you’ll need to correctly answer a skill question to claim your prize.

To allow for any delay in points being reflected against your weekly target (for example, if you have not yet synced your device), the previous week’s challenge will be kept open until 11:59 p.m. CT on the following Saturday. If, during that monitoring period, Manulife Vitality awards points and you meet the previous week’s target, you will earn a spin of the wheel for that previous target cycle. Points awarded after the monitoring period will not be retroactively counted.

If you have achieved the maximum points available for physical activity, Manulife Vitality recognizes the workouts you complete as if you had earned a Standard and Advanced Workout. You will not be able to exceed your maximum for other rewards in the Manulife Vitality Program. 

At this time, Active Rewards is only available on Android and iPhone devices.

You should sync your devices on a regular basis to ensure all workouts are awarded. We recommend you log in and open your app at least once a week to ensure data is sent to Vitality. There are instances when it may take a few days to receive your workouts from our device partners and award your points. All workout points must be awarded by Saturday of the following week. Any workout data that comes in after that time will not be counted toward meeting your weekly target. 

If you feel there was a significant delay in Vitality awarding your points, please contact Manulife Vitality.

You will continue to receive points that will count only toward Active Rewards weekly targets and your monthly Apple Watch benefit. You will not be able to exceed your maximum for other rewards in the Manulife Vitality program.

While any physical activity is beneficial, by design, completing Standard and Advanced Workouts will help you achieve the recommended daily amount of physical activity for substantial health benefits.

You may still able to participate in Vitality Active Rewards and earn Vitality Wheel spins for meeting your weekly targets.

Note: This reward is not currently available in Quebec.

There is no maximum for total amount of points in the Program; however, there is a maximum of 6,000 points for the verified workout category and 1,500 points for the Athletic Events category, for a total of 7,500 for Physical Activity.

You can sign up on your computer by going to manulife.ca/signin and following these simple steps. You will need to have your Manulife Group Benefits card on hand to complete this step.

  1. In the Plan contract number field, type your 4-digit contract number
  2. In the Member certificate number field, type your 9-digit certificate number
  3. In the Password field, enter the password you use for your Group Benefits member site
  4. Click Sign up for Manulife Vitality
  5. Review the program information and click Sign up now
  6. Review the program terms and conditions and click I accept

To sign up for Active Rewards, you must have signed up for Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits on your Group Benefits member site and downloaded the Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits app.

  1. Log in to your Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits mobile app
  2. On the home screen under the Activities tab, tap on the ‘Activate your weekly physical activity targets’ tile
  3. Tap Get Started and follow the prompts

Frequently asked questions

You have Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits through your employer’s benefits plan at no extra cost to you.

Yes. Downloading the app is the only way you can fully participate in the program.

Certain features are not available to Quebec residents because of regulatory requirements. While the rewards for Quebec and non-Quebec residents are similar, how they are awarded, is different.

You can find your status by tapping Rewards, at the top of the home screen.

You will get emails at the address you provided for your Manulife Group Benefits account. If you want to change the email address for Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits communications, you will need to change the email address for all your Manulife Group Benefits correspondence.

To change your email, sign into your Manulife Group Benefits member site and change your email address in the profile section.

You need to sync your fitness device or app within your weekly target cycle, which ends each Sunday at 11:59 pm. If you do not sync your device or app before your target expires, you won’t get your points and might not not reach your weekly target.

We recommend you open the Manulife Vitality for Group Benefits app at least once a week to view your activity and make sure it’s syncing as expected.

There is a monitoring period that ends on the following Saturday at 11:59pm. This allows points earned up to the previous Sunday at 11:59pm to be counted towards your weekly target.

If points are awarded during the monitoring period and result in the target being reached, you will earn a reward for the previous target cycle.

The physical activity points category has a limit of 6,000 points each program year.

Once you have earned 6,000 points from physical activity, your total points will not increase from further physical activities, but you can still participate in the Active Rewards program and earn weekly rewards.

Coins will accumulate every time you are awarded for reaching your physical activity target. Once you earn 1,000 coins on the fuel bar, you can choose a $10 gift card from a list of vendors in the app. Coins do not expire.

The coins you earn from reaching your weekly physical activity target accumulates on the Fuel bar. Once you earn 1,000 coins on the fuel bar, you can choose a $10 gift card from a list of vendors in the app.

There is no time limit during which a member must accumulate enough coins to fill the fuel bar. Coins earned in excess of the fuel bar threshold (1,000) are carried over to the next fuel bar accumulation.
