Sponsor Manulife ID is a single, secure ID to help simplify your everyday. It replaces your old credentials with one ID to give you a simplified online experience.

Yes. This single, secure username and password replaces your existing credentials with one ID. You’ll use your Sponsor Manulife ID to sign in and manage your group plans online.

Setting up a Sponsor Manulife ID is simple. With user-friendly designs and guided help, we’ll walk you through the process of setting up your Sponsor Manulife ID.

We’ve got you covered. The registration process is designed with simplicity in mind, and we’ve provided access to real-time information to help you along the way! And we’re always here to help with any questions you may have.

Yes, members will also have to set up a Manulife ID.  If you are also a plan member, you will have to set up a separate Manulife ID distinct from your Sponsor Manulife ID

To manage your organization’s group retirement program, Sponsors/Plan Administrators should create a Sponsor Manulife ID. This is specifically for your business needs.

If you’re also a retail customer or a member of a Manulife Group Retirement plan, you’ll set up a separate, distinct Manulife ID for your personal accounts.

If it’s been a while since you signed in, or if you may not remember or don’t know if you have a Sponsor Manulife ID, here’s some tips to help you:

  1. Make sure you’re signed out of your Manulife account, then click Forgot your username? If you have a Sponsor Manulife ID, you’ll receive an email in less than 5 minutes.
  2. If you use the same email address to try and set up a second Sponsor Manulife ID, you’ll get a warning message saying: “Hang on – it looks like you might already have a Sponsor Manulife ID…”.
  3. If you do accidentally double-up on Manulife IDs in either your business or personal role, call us at 1-888-713-7788 and we’ll help.

While connecting accounts together to simplify our customers’ experience is a big benefit of Manulife ID, it’s not the only one. Becoming a digital customer leader means staying ahead of security threats and being obsessed about keeping customer data safe and secure. Security is always a high priority for us. At its core, Manulife ID is part of our ongoing, online improvements to provide the best experience for you, our partners, and our clients.

No. Each person in your organization should sign in using their own Sponsor Manulife ID, depending on their access needs. This keeps the accounts more secure as people change responsibilities or companies and allows for tighter limits on who needs access to which accounts.

You can choose to use any password you like, so long as it meets the password strength requirements. And you can use any username you like, so long as it’s not already being used for another Manulife ID.

The final step needed to complete setting up your Sponsor Manulife ID is to click the Activate button that you’ll find in an automated email you get from Manulife. This button must be clicked in less than 15 minutes of getting the email.

If you don’t see a confirmation email from us after setting up your Sponsor Manulife ID:

  • Check your spam or junk folders
  • Wait 15 minutes and try setting up your Sponsor Manulife ID again

If you still don’t see an email, contact us and we’ll help.

The activation email link is only valid for 15 minutes. If you use the link to activate your account outside of that 15-minute window, you’ll see an error message saying: “Sorry, this link isn’t active anymore”.

It’s important to activate your Sponsor Manulife ID right away. If you don’t, you’ll have to start over again from the beginning.

If you’re still having problems with the activation link, call 1-888-713-7788. We’re here to help.

This happens after you try to sign in a few times with the wrong password. To unlock your account, click Forgot your password?. A one-time password will be sent to you either through mobile text (if you set this up) or email.

  1. Check your junk and spam folders to see if the code was accidently sent there.
  2. Make sure you’re connected to the internet.

If you still haven’t received your one-time password, call us at 1-888-713-7788.

Tip: If you requested multiple verification passwords, only the newest one works. A one-time password expires in 15 minutes.

Call us at 1-888-713-7788. We’re here to help.

When you sign into your Sponsor Manulife ID (and before you choose your account), go to Profile Manulife ID. This is where you manage your Sponsor Manulife ID. That includes updating your email and mobile number, changing your username or password, or updating the personal information you use with your Sponsor Manulife ID.

It won’t expire, but we recommend changing it occasionally. If you ever think your account or device has been compromised, you should change your password as soon as you can.

If you received a passcode from Manulife to verify your identity through a two-step authentication process – but you didn’t ask for one – that could mean:

  • Someone with a similar username as you made an error entering information, which triggered our reaching out to you in error (this is usually the case)
  • Someone may be trying to sign in to your account using your Manulife ID

The reason we have two-step authentication is to prevent someone other than yourself from signing in to your account. If you received a code, that means the security protection is working.

If you find yourself in this situation, you can do one of three things:

  1. Ignore the email, as the attempted sign in will fail without the second step being completed
  2. Sign in to your account and review your information to confirm all is well
  3. Contact us – find our contact information (according to business segment) on our contact us page

Connecting a product is another way for us to keep you and your money safe. It’s one more way we’re making sure you’re you. After signing up for your Sponsor Manulife ID, follow through the intuitive steps to connect your existing Group Retirement accounts to your Sponsor Manulife ID.

No. Connecting your accounts is a one-time process. If you have multiple accounts, you’ll have to connect them one at a time. But once connected, they stay connected and you can quickly and easily switch between them after signing in using your Sponsor Manulife ID.

Do you currently have more than one User ID and password you use to connect to Manulife accounts in your role as a Sponsor? If so, you need to connect each User ID to your Sponsor Manulife ID.

Once you set up your Sponsor Manulife ID and connect your accounts, you’ll have access to them under one simple, secure username and password. Sign in once and move between your accounts quickly and easily.

When you sign in with your Sponsor Manulife ID, you’ll be directed to the product page, where you’ll see everything available to connect. From this page, you can also switch between products you’re already connected to.

Sponsor Manulife ID is available for Group Benefits.

If you are also a member of a Manulife Group Plan, you’ll need to set up a separate Manulife ID for members. This helps keep your work accounts and personal accounts separate.

Important

You’ve set up a Sponsor Manulife ID for business needs.

If you’re also a member, don’t forget you’ll need to set up a different Manulife ID (for members) for your personal Manulife products.

As always, keeping your business and personal accounts separate and distinct makes for smoother, more secure transitions when your responsibilities or employer changes.

If you or your members are setting up your Manulife ID at work or behind the corporate system, strong email security settings could filter out Manulife’s activation email before it can reach your inbox.  That would stop you from completing the set-up process.  To prevent this issue, be sure to check with your technical teams and reach out to your Manulife representative for more information.

Yes. This single, secure username and password replaces their existing group retirement credentials.

Going forward, members will use their Manulife ID to sign in and manage all their accounts online. Once their accounts are connected, it’s quick to switch between their Manulife group and individual accounts under that one single sign in experience.

With Manulife ID, members will get a simplified online experience that makes it easy to access their plans.

If they are already registered for access to their online secure site, they’ll only need their existing credentials (i.e., email address or user ID and password) to connect their group retirement accounts to their new Manulife ID. If they forget their password, they can choose the link “forgot password” for help.

If they haven’t registered for the site, they’ll need to complete their registration using the same information they use today (i.e., customer number they receive at the end of their enrolment, or the registration ID they get in their welcome package.). Our contact centre representatives are ready to help if the member has any issues with finding their registration information.

Through their Manulife ID, members can currently connect to any of the following accounts they may hold:

  • Manulife Bank
  • Manulife Securities
  • Manulife Investment Management
  • Manulife Vitality (Individual Insurance)
Vitality is a trademark of Vitality Group International, Inc., and is used by The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company and its affiliates under license.
  • Group Benefits
  • Group Retirement

The Manulife Mobile app will be updated throughout December. Once the app is updated, the next time members open it, they’ll be prompted to use their Manulife ID. They can set up their Manulife ID within the app. If they already have a Manulife ID, they can use it to sign in.

Your members can use Manulife ID to connect their group benefits account.

No, they won’t need to set it up right away. When they go to sign in to their group retirement site for the first time post-launch, they’ll be prompted to set up their new Manulife ID.

Members can choose to use any password they like, so long as it meets the password strength requirements. And they can use any username they like, so long as it’s not already being used for another Manulife ID.

We’ve got them covered. Similar to the support set up for Sponsors and Advisors, members will have access to a support page that includes a helpful video, how-to guide and more tips and tricks to help them along the way!

All new member welcome material is also being updated with the new Manulife ID information. And remember, we’re always here to help with any questions.

If the member is setting up their Manulife ID at work or behind the corporate system, strong email security settings could filter out Manulife’s activation email before it can reach a member’s inbox.  That would stop the member from completing the set-up process.  To prevent this issue, be sure to check with your technical teams and reach out to your Manulife representative for more information.

Contact your usual Manulife representative. They’re knowledgeable about Manulife ID and the specifics of your plan and will be able to get your questions answered.
