Safety Tips to Protect Your Cards and Your PIN
  • Don't lend your cards to anyone.
  • Keep your cards in a safe place and never leave them unattended in a car or at work.
  • Use your hand or body to shield your Personal Identification Number (PIN) when you are conducting transactions at the Automated Banking Machine (ABM) or at the point of sale.
  • Never let your Access Card out of your sight when conducting a transaction.
  • Only allow your card to be swiped once and always remember to take your Access Card and transaction record with you once your transaction is completed.
  • Regularly check your statements to verify all transactions have been properly documented. If entries do not accurately reflect transaction activities, for example, if there are missing or additional transactions, you should contact Manulife Bank immediately at 1-877-765-2265.
  • Your Access Card and PIN are the keys to your account. Never disclose your PIN to anyone or you could be liable for losses. You are the only person who should know it.
  • Memorize your PIN -- it's your electronic signature. If you suspect that someone knows your PIN, contact Manulife Bank immediately to cancel the card.
  • If you feel you need to keep a copy of your PIN written down somewhere (not recommended), keep it in a place separate from your Access Card. Never keep them together.
  • If your Access Card is lost, stolen or retained by an ABM, notify Manulife Bank immediately upon becoming aware of the problem.
  • In a proven case of fraud, victims are protected by the Canadian Code of Practice for Debit Card Services and will not suffer any financial losses.
  • Safety comes first. Cardholders should not take unnecessary risks.
